Omoda<\/strong> is launching what would be a mild performance<\/strong> SUV in Mzansi<\/strong> next month. The C5 SHS<\/strong> is set to take the brand into a new bracket<\/strong>, where it will compete<\/strong> with some entry-level hot hatches<\/strong> and mild-performing compact SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C5 SHS carries a 1.5-litre turbo<\/strong> engine, a 1.83kWh battery pack<\/strong> and a motor to make it a Hybrid. Maximum power comes in at 165kW<\/strong> and 310Nm<\/strong>, similar to hot hatches of a decade ago<\/strong>. Omoda claims the car will sprint from 0 \u2013 100km\/h in just 7.9 seconds<\/strong>. But where it matters the most, this being a Hybrid<\/strong>, is the fuel efficiency<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this regard, Omoda is confident that the C5 SHS will be able to return just over 1 000km of range<\/strong> from a full petrol tank<\/strong> and a full battery<\/strong>. The accompanying claimed average fuel consumption figure is 5.3 litres per 100km<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
