BMW<\/strong> is flexing the new X5<\/strong>, as these spy pictures<\/strong> show. The car is busy testing on the Nurburgring\u2019s Nordschleife<\/strong>, going through paces left right and centre. The X5 has always been an above-average<\/strong> handler, at least for the shape and size, thus leading the charge in that department. Of course later on the Porsche Cayenne took over the mantle, but the X5 remained impressive<\/strong> nevertheless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And so we expect similar performance results with the all-new model, which will be powered by petrol<\/strong>, Hybrid and electric drives. Some markets might even get hydrogen<\/strong> power. What we see from these camouflaged pictures<\/strong> is BMW\u2019s new face, called Neue Klasse<\/strong> (2). It\u2019s a new design language<\/strong> that will be spread across all of the company\u2019s cars over the next few years, and is characterised externally by that new butch<\/strong> and boxy<\/strong> front grille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the camouflage wraps, the latest prototype is clearly putting in serious hot laps<\/strong>, no doubt dialing in the chassis balance<\/strong> and suspension tuning that BMW loves to brag about when it comes to making a big SUV feel surprisingly agile<\/strong> on a track like the ‘Ring. The latest shots hint at a near-production-spec<\/strong> lighting peeking through, with those slim, two-prong daytime running lights giving a sharp, modern signature that ties into the Neue Klasse family’s evolved four-eyed look<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside we expected a leap forward with the iDrive infotainment<\/strong> setup, ditching most physical buttons<\/strong> for a cleaner, screen-dominated dash that floods the cabin with light and tech. Expect the Neue Klasse influence to bring more minimalist vibes<\/strong>, renewable build materials, and next-level efficiency from the sixth-gen eDrive bits on the electric<\/strong> and hybrid<\/strong> models.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
