BMW<\/strong> has confirmed that it will launch a new M3<\/strong> in both petrol<\/strong> (probably Hybrid<\/strong>), as well as fully-electric versions<\/strong>. Such a move is clearly for the benefit of both regions where electric cars<\/strong> have taken off, and where they have not yet. Quite an investment<\/strong> for BMW, as developing two powertrains<\/strong> is more expensive<\/strong> than one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So take a look at these spy pictures<\/strong>, showing the M3 in EV mode. It will benefit from BMW\u2019s next design language called \u201cNeue Klasse<\/strong>\u201d, which sees some differences in how the cars look from today\u2019s models, including the front<\/strong> and rear<\/strong> ends, and the whole interior. This M3 will be heavier<\/strong> and quieter<\/strong> than its petrol sibling. However, we don\u2019t know if it will be as powerful or more in order to compensate for the weight gain<\/strong>. In terms of acceleration<\/strong> though, we expect this electric model to outpace its sibling, at least for the initial few hundred metres<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
