If you have been unware<\/strong>, consider this your info aler<\/strong>t. A few years ago, Jaguar<\/strong> decided it would become an electric-only<\/strong> car manufacturing company by 2026<\/strong>. Well, we are now in 2026<\/strong> and the electric revolution<\/strong> has not quite happened the way European<\/strong> governments might have envisaged it would. EV sales are not great, globally<\/strong> not just in Mzansi, and manufacturers are scaling back<\/strong> quite dramatically<\/strong> on EV production and plans going forward<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Jaguar has so far stuck to its guns. In fact, the company doubled down<\/strong> by announcing it would also move into the higher-end<\/strong> market segment, essentially competing<\/strong> against the likes of high-end BMWs<\/strong>, Bentleys, Mercedes-Maybach and the like. And the upcoming 4 door GT<\/strong> \u2013 pictured here in camouflage \u2013 is the poster boy of this change from Jaguar. We will see it in pictures<\/strong> and videos<\/strong> for the first time in September 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not a lot is known about the car\u2019s technical<\/strong> details, except for the following: it carries an electric-only<\/strong> powertrain with over 735kW<\/strong> of power and a thumping 1 300Nm<\/strong> of pulling torque. Remember the Bugatti Veyron<\/strong>, once the world\u2019s most powerful<\/strong> and fastest car? It had figures similar to this 4 door GT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The big Jaguar will signal what upcoming future<\/strong> Jaguar models will look like as well. Because we cannot clearly see the design lines<\/strong> and the like, we cannot confirm the rumour that the car does not<\/strong> have a rear window<\/strong>, and will instead use camera systems<\/strong> to project rear views for the driver. JLR already has early versions of this system in many of their Land Rover<\/strong> cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
