Porsche<\/strong> did not have a good time during the first quarter<\/strong> (Q1) of 2026<\/strong>. The German<\/strong> sports car brand saw sales nosedive<\/strong> by a whopping 15%<\/strong> between January<\/strong> and March 2026<\/strong>, from 71 460 units sold in Q1, 2025, to what was recently reported to be 60 991 cars<\/strong>. Of the regions that Porsche defines globally<\/strong>, Germany was the only one that grew; by 4%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The rest, such as the company\u2019s biggest market<\/strong> \u2013 North America \u2013 also recorded a decline of 11% in sales, from 20 698 to 18 344 cars<\/strong>. China dropped from 18 017 to 14 710 cars, a big 21% decline<\/strong>. Porsche listed three main reasons for these declines<\/strong>. First, they said the 718<\/strong> range has been discontinued<\/strong> and is therefore not available for sale at the current moment. Two, the new Macan Electric EV<\/strong> is still being phased into the market, and is therefore not as widely available as it should be. Thirdly, the Trump<\/strong> administration has stopped incentives for buyers of Hybrids<\/strong> and EVs in the United States, thus keeping prices quite<\/strong> high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good news for Porsche is that sales of the 911 reached 13 889 units<\/strong> worldwide, up 22%<\/strong> on Q1, 2025. However, it was still the Cayenne<\/strong> that led the way, with 19 183<\/strong> deliveries (still a 4% decline on Q1, 2025), followed by the Macan<\/strong> with 8 079<\/strong>, Panamera sold 4 498<\/strong> units, Taycan moved 3 420<\/strong> electric cars, and the 718 pairing of Cayman and Boxster rounded it all up with 1 792<\/strong> cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
