BMW<\/strong> will be revealing<\/strong> (and launching in some markets) several new cars<\/strong> this year, including the likes of iX3<\/strong>, all-new 3 Series<\/strong> and i3. Among these will also be a new version of the baby sports car named M2. The M2 CS is BMW\u2019s \u201centry-level\u201d hi-performance car, with a 353kW<\/strong>, 550Nm<\/strong> powertrain, led by a turbocharged 3.0-litre<\/strong> engine. All of that goes to the rear wheels, which is a delight<\/strong> for those who know exactly what they are doing, but a scary prospect<\/strong> if you are not that skilled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enter the upcoming M2 with xDrive AWD<\/strong>. With that model, BMW will be running toe to toe with the Audi RS 3, which uses quattro<\/strong> AWD for better acceleration and more confident<\/strong> cornering. BMW claims a 0 \u2013 100km\/h<\/strong> time of 4.2 seconds<\/strong> for the M2 CS. Well the xDrive version will certainly dip lower<\/strong> than this, thanks to the quicker response of that system when launching the car. We also believe it will use the company\u2019s tried and trusted 8-speed automatic<\/strong> transmission to plant all that power onto the tarmac. Yes xDrive AWD will add some weight<\/strong> overall, but that should be off-set<\/strong> by its catlike reflexes on take-off.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
