With Mercedes-Benz<\/strong> having dropped its raucous V8 engine<\/strong> from the C-Class<\/strong> range of AMGs<\/strong> a few years ago, fans had been left with a bitter taste<\/strong> in the mouth, despite the replacement\u2019s much more powerful disposition<\/strong>. Sound makes a difference, if not in performance then in aural character<\/strong>. Perhaps that is all AMG fans were asking for. And if so, Mercedes-Benz has responded<\/strong> in the positive. See these spy pictures<\/strong> here? This is the upcoming CLE 63<\/strong>, fitted with a V8 engine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So it\u2019s back then? Yes. It\u2019s back, with a bang<\/strong>. The CLE range if you recall, has replaced<\/strong> the C-Class and E-Class coupes<\/strong>, essentially folding the pair into one. Top of the range in that aspect is said CLE 63, expected to produce over 500kW<\/strong> of thumping V8 thrust<\/strong>. We believe AWD<\/strong> is to be employed as a catalyst for enthusiastic acceleration<\/strong>, and better grip. The front grille mimics that of the GT coupe<\/strong>, while elegant lines flow from font to rear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pundits are probably already licking their lips, scratching<\/strong> their itchy right feet<\/strong> over those four exhaust tailpipes<\/strong>. Those sure look real from here. Hopefully they produce the expected sounds. Snaps, crackles<\/strong> and pops would be the bare minimum required to satisfy AMG fans, wipe the tears<\/strong> off their faces and restore order in the performance world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
