Mzansi<\/strong> recorded the highest sales<\/strong> total of new vehicles for 2025 so far in September<\/strong>, with 54\u00a0700 units<\/strong> shifted during that month. Of these, 38\u00a0603 units<\/strong> were Passenger Cars<\/strong> and 13\u00a0078<\/strong> were Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs<\/strong>), which includes bakkies<\/strong>, and panel vans<\/strong>. Both the total sales and Passenger cars are the highest since September 2015<\/strong> and October 2014<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dealership sales were 80.1%<\/strong> of the total, with rentals coming in at 15.2%,<\/strong> business fleet at 2.7% and government with 2%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of movements, we see the top 3<\/strong> \u2013 Toyota, Suzuki<\/strong> and Volkswagen – have remained in the same positions as August 2025. Hyundai<\/strong> and Ford swapped places and kept GWM<\/strong> in 6th<\/sup> place. Isuzu<\/strong> took 7th<\/sup> from Chery<\/strong>, Kia stayed put in 9th<\/sup>. Mahindra and Renault swapped around, while Nissan <\/strong>jumped from 14th<\/sup> <\/strong>to 12th<\/sup><\/strong>, ahead of the BMW Group<\/strong>. Chery brands Jaecoo <\/strong>and Omoda <\/strong>(they report to naamsa <\/strong>as one company), sold one less car from August for 14th<\/sup> and Stellantis <\/strong>took the last position with 848 <\/strong>units sold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
