In case you didn\u2019t already know, Omoda<\/strong> is a Chinese<\/strong> brand owned by the Chery Group<\/strong>. In Mzansi<\/strong> the Omoda brand is operated largely independently<\/strong>, alongside another Chery brand Jaecoo<\/strong>. Currently Omoda sells C5<\/strong> and C9<\/strong> models of different powertrains and trim levels. But then yesterday the brand introduced<\/strong> the new Omoda 4<\/strong> in China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some markets around the world the C5 and C9 are simply called 5<\/strong> and 9<\/strong>. Same as the 4. Therefore it would not surprise<\/strong> us if the 4 came to Mzansi as the C4<\/strong>. At the moment, Omoda South Africa<\/strong> has not confirmed the futuristic-looking<\/strong> specimen for this country. However, we there is no option but to offer it here, as a two-product<\/strong> company would not seem to be sustainable<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Richard Koo<\/strong>, OMODA Design Director, said: \u201cOMODA 4 adopts the \u2018Cyber Mecha\u2019 design philosophy, presenting a futuristic mecha-inspired<\/strong> exterior. During the journey through the O-Universe, mysterious quantum<\/strong> fluctuations are activated, transforming<\/strong> into the unique \u2018O-Universe lighting\u2019, the most recognisable visual<\/strong> signature of OMODA 4 and a symbol bridging virtual<\/strong> and real worlds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are no powertrain<\/strong> details<\/strong> available yet, but we expect at least the 1.5-litre turbocharged company motor to make an appearance, as well as a Hybrid<\/strong> model.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
