Porsche\u2019s<\/strong> recent struggles<\/strong> with selling enough electric cars<\/strong> \u2013 especially in China<\/strong> \u2013 have not stopped the German<\/strong> manufacturer from going ahead and finishing off certain EV products. One such product is the Macan Electric<\/strong>. Brand new to the scene is the Macan GTS<\/strong>, which now comes exclusively<\/strong> as an EV<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To start off with, Porsche has blessed its compact SUV with a powerful electric motor,<\/strong> planted on the rear axle<\/strong>. In its normal guise it dishes out 380kW<\/strong> of power, and a hefty 955Nm<\/strong> of torque. However, when launching and with overboost<\/strong>, the driver can have access to 420kW<\/strong>. That then results in a 0 \u2013 100km\/h<\/strong> sprint run in 3.8 seconds<\/strong> according to Porsche, as well as a 250km\/h<\/strong> top speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While these performance credentials<\/strong> certain sound impressive<\/strong>, what about the almighty range<\/strong>? After all, much of the EV world is unstable because of the R word<\/strong>. Well Porsche claims the Macan GTS, despite all its capabilities<\/strong>, can return a range of up to 586km<\/strong>. A strong claim indeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among other highlights, the Macan GTS features 21-inch Macan Design<\/strong> alloy wheels in Anthracite Grey as standard, 22-inch RS Spyder Design<\/strong> wheels as options, sports air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM<\/strong>), with a 10mm lower<\/strong> ride height. While all-wheel drive (AWD<\/strong>) is standard in the car, a 48:52 rear-biased<\/strong> weight distribution is in place.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porsche\u2019s Race-Tex upholstery<\/strong>, which is smooth and has the same texture as Alcantara, but is entirely vegan-based. A GT sports steering, 18-way adjustable<\/strong> sports seats with GTS lettering<\/strong> and an upgraded infotainment<\/strong> system are but among a long list of features occupants can look forward to.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
