For the third month<\/strong> in a row, Mzansi\u2019s<\/strong> automotive manufacturers exceeded<\/strong> the 50 000 unit<\/strong> sales in a month. Last month \u2013 October 2025<\/strong> \u2013 the industry sold 55 956<\/strong> new vehicles, including Passenger, Light Commercial<\/strong>, Medium Heavy, and Heavy vehicles. This was the highest number since March 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good news these, because it means the overall<\/strong> economy is growing, since automotive sales are an economic indicator<\/strong>. Passenger Cars led the growth, with 39 610 units<\/strong> sold. That segment was followed by the Light Commercial Vehicle segment with 13 361<\/strong> units, up 23.9%.<\/strong> Simultaneously, the dealerships<\/strong> were the big winners in terms of distribution, with 79.1% <\/strong>of all new vehicles being sold via them, while rentals contributed 16.6%.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
