Unlike previous Legend models such as the <strong>Legend 50<\/strong> and <strong>45<\/strong>, the 55 will not be a <strong>limited edition<\/strong> model in terms of how long it stays on the market. In fact, the question of its market availability is only answered by what it will be replaced by in <strong>2026<\/strong>. Toyota is offering potential buyers the choice of either the <strong>Xtra cab<\/strong> or <strong>double cab<\/strong> options. Remember, Xtra cab falls between single and double cab in terms of spatial use, having let go of rear seats in <strong>favour<\/strong> of a more <strong>compact<\/strong> storage facility, as well as a <strong>longer rear load bed<\/strong> than that of a double cab. Visually there are a number of stand-out <strong>highlights<\/strong> that the car carries. The front end has a different look from existing Legend models, with its own front grille design. Side steps make it easier to enter the Legend 55, while the <strong>black<\/strong> <strong>door handles<\/strong> provide extra appeal. There is a <strong>black tubular sports bar<\/strong> at the rear and partially on the sides, with Legend 55 <strong>carvings<\/strong> on it. For extra security, Toyota fitted a <strong>lockable roller shutter<\/strong> over the <strong>load box<\/strong>, which simultaneously protects cargo from the natural elements as well. In standard garb it wears <strong>265-60R18 alloys<\/strong> up front and <strong>265-60R18 alloys<\/strong> at the rear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rear LED lights flank Toyota Hilux Legend 55 (and 4&#215;4) words on the <strong>tailgate<\/strong>, with a bumper completing the visual aspect. Speaking of the tailgate, it continues to feature a <strong>soft-drop<\/strong> mechanism that lets it open softly, instead of dropping hard with a bang like in the old days. Very light to lift too. A little known <strong>trivia<\/strong> about the Legend 55 tailgate is that when it\u2019s open and is <strong>laying flat<\/strong>, it can carry about <strong>300kg of weight<\/strong> without even flinching. A detachable tow bar is available for those whose adventures include caravans (<strong>3 500kg braked<\/strong>) or simply pulling on trailers (<strong>750kg unbraked<\/strong>). Big numbers indeed.
