The Volkswagen brand<\/strong> \u2013 which is the biggest chunk<\/strong> of the Volkswagen Group \u2013 has reported that it sold 4.73 million<\/strong> cars globally in 2025<\/strong>. The year was challenging for Volkswagen as well, evidenced by the 1.4% overall drop<\/strong> in sales compared to 2024. China<\/strong> and North America<\/strong> were the largest drivers of this sales decline<\/strong>, down 8.4%<\/strong> and 8.2% each respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In China<\/strong>, Volkswagen\u2019s most important region, the company sold 2 015 200<\/strong> cars. Second to that was Europe<\/strong> with 1 318 100<\/strong> cars sold. The third-largest region was South America<\/strong>, having moved 568 200<\/strong> units for the period, followed by North America<\/strong> with 544 000<\/strong>. The rest of the world \u2013 including Mzansi<\/strong> \u2013 contributed only around 284 000<\/strong> cars combined to the 4.73 million figure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
