FERRARI DETAILS NEW ELECTRIC CAR BATTERY SYSTEM

Ferrari has detailed the battery system that will power its first-ever electric car – currently nicknamed Elettrica – when it appears in 2026. Without any big details as to whether it will be a sedan, sports coupe or SUV yet, though we believe it will be this car pictured below here. Ferrari has just laid the foundation for its future through this battery system. Mind you, the company is not abandoning its big V12 engines anytime soon either. Both powertrains will run concurrently, guided by market demand.

Most of the 880V-based battery pack would be located directly beneath the cabin, the rest wits right at the back. Ferrari says the system is engineered light, for better weight distribution, efficiency and for expected performance. Interestingly, the entire battery pack can be completely removed from the car without disturbing other connected components, for whatever reason.

As far as maximum power is concerned, the Italian brand reckons it would gather upwards of 730kW at a go, enabling the car to sprint from 0 – 100km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Top speed is envisaged at over 310km/h. Importantly, Ferrari says the new Elettrica will return a driving range of over 530km from a full battery pack.
