Renault saw a 3.2% rise in sales internationally in 2025, compared to 2024. The brand sold a total of 1 628 030 cars last year, including Passenger and Light Commercial Vehicles. Passenger cars represented 1 292 000 units sold. Not surprising, considering Renault’s commercial side is not that strong.

Renault being a French company, did quite well outside of Europe, which is not an easy achievement. To this end, they sold 621 435 cars, mainly in regions like Latin America (272 600 units), South Korea (52 300) and Morocco (41 100). As for Mzansi, Renault South Africa sold about 16 400 new cars in the local market, which was a 3.7% increase from 2024. This bodes well for them as they went on a launch blitz late last year, releasing cars like the updated Captur, naturally aspirated Kiger and Triber. Plans are afoot to bring more new models, such as the new Clio 6, Boreal and perhaps even the Rafale in 2026.

“With three consecutive years of growth and a strong rise in global passenger car sales, Renault has demonstrated the strength and consistency of its strategy,” according to Ivan Segal, Global Sales and Operations Director of the Renault brand. “Our electrification offensive and value-driven approach are delivering concrete results, positioning Renault as a leading and innovative brand. In 2025, the complementarity of European growth and international expansion drove sustainable performance, meeting customer expectations worldwide with products tailored to each market.”
