JAC ANNOUNCES T9 HUNTER LIMITED EDITION

JAC introduced 24 special edition T9 bakkie models to its customers, and all units were immediately snapped up. Called the T9 Hunter Limited Edition, the model is a celebration of JAC’s 24-hour endurance record run at the government’s Gerotek testing facility last year, where the T9 covered 4 084km at an average speed of 170.1km/h. The point of that exercise was to showcase the car’s reliability and strength.

With the T9 Hunter, JAC is showcasing something else; individual appeal. While the regular T9 already stands out, thanks to that menacing front grille, the Hunter edition is more subdued. The powertrain has been improved though, ultimately giving the car more torque. At current levels, the 2.0-litre turbo diesel motor – paired to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission – offers 144kW and 487Nm of pulling torque, with a matching braked towing capacity of 3 500kg.

For added visual appeal, JAC fitted items like a tow bar, tonneau cover, Artav nudge and style bars with branded writing, and an interior with branded headrests among others. Hunter branding on the bodywork is also quite visible.
