JLR has been secretly working on a “baby” Defender. The little car, tentatively called Defender Sport, has been in the pipeline for several years now. Finally we can see what the company has been hiding, thanks to these spy pictures where the car was caught on UK roads.
Placing below the current Defender in terms of size, the smaller car will feature JLR’s patented 4×4 systems, as well as new powertrains that include Hybrids. The shape might be on the boxy side, however, we can see the front end is more akin to the Range Rover Sport than the Defender itself, lending the little one to more sportiness. There’s no launch date as yet, but we expect development to be quite far, such that it should go on sale in 2026 some time.
