BMW will install the “Neue Klasse” design philosophy on over 40 models in the next two years. The new iX3 – pictured – is the first BMW to use this language, along with the hi-tech that goes with it.
This is the second “Neue Klasse” period for BMW. The first was between 1962 and 1972 when the company was facing extremely bleak times and had to take drastic survival measures. Currently they are in the second reiteration of the concept, with design and technology leading the way. As such, you will see the new iX3 sporting a different front grille, rear end and interior. Many of the upgrades are beneath the surface as well where the eye cannot reach. Following the iX3 we will see the all-new X5 with Neue Klasse design, and the rest of the models.
