BMW is updating its M Performance range, starting with the M240i, M340i and M440i. The updated cars begin production in November and will go on sale in several markets during 2026. The main update concerns the powertrains, which have received notable bumps in power, and are now on par with competitors’.

Starting with the baby M240i, as it now turns out 288kW and 540Nm of torque, while returning a claimed 8 litres per 100km in average fuel consumption. The M340i and M440i also carry the same amount of power outputs, but are said to give less fuel consumption, hovering in the 7.7s. All models are fitted with BMW’s xDrive all-wheel drive (AWD) system for better traction and grip.

BMW has not supplied the sprint time for the M240i. However, the bigger siblings both achieve a claimed 0 – 100km/h time of 4.3 seconds each. This matches the real-world time achieved by the previous M3/M4 (F80/F82).
