SPIED: NEW MERCEDES-BENZ GLA

Mercedes-Benz is rumoured to be ending production of its A-Class model range in 2026 and not replacing it. This move will then leave space open for a new entry-level “baby Benz”. Enter the GLA, which is set to take over that spot in the coming years. Spies have spotted the next-generation GLA while it undergoes some testing procedures.

The shape – even under camouflage – looks different from the current-generation GLA, with a face resembling the new GLC in some ways, slanted headlights and self-retracting door handles. The rear roofline also slopes, giving the GLA a sportier look than previously.

With diesel passenger cars being persona no grata in Europe these days, the GLA will instead carry petrol and Hybrid powertrains, as well of course, as fully-electric drives.
